After a brief overview of the thinking behind Narrative
Therapy, the presenter will discuss a variety of Narrative
practices, including externalizing, deconstructing,
and re-authoring. Applications to problems of depression
and anxiety will be examined through a case presentation.
Goals and Objectives
1. Externalize problems;
2. Examine them in relation to their cultural contexts;
3. Identify particular behaviors that counter problems,
specifically depression and anxiety.
Stephen Madigan, MSW, Ph.D., is a co-founder
